Abstract

Briefly discuss the impacts of industrial wastewater discharges on the environment with a focus on Asia. The nature of industrial wastewaters will then be presented, followed by an introduction to the industrial wastewater treatment plant aiming at treating these industrial wastewaters. This will cover pre-treatment units, biological units (aerobic and anaerobic) and final sludge management. Description of case studies on slaughterhouse and palm oil wastewaters and sugarcane vinasses will be shown.
