Review: Tecsun PL365 radio receiver

Mason, Andrew (2016) Review: Tecsun PL365 radio receiver. Silicon Chip, 29. pp. 70-71. ISSN 1030-2662

Abstract

The Tecsun PL-365 portable radio is a miniature receiver which covers from 150 to 29999 KHz (continuous) on the medium and short wave bands and 76 to 108MHz on the FM band. It utilises digital signal processing and can resolve SSB signals with an adjustable beat frequency oscillator (BFO) for clarity. Various accessories such as an external ferrite bar antenna and a long wire antenna are included. The PL-365 uses the same si4737 DSP chip as its big brother, the PL-880, and exhibits very good sensitivity and selectivity in a tiny radio measuring 159mm high by 53mm wide by 25mm deep. This is a review of the receiver's performance and useability.
