Abstract

The stress–strain state of the conjugated orthotropic spherical shells under internal pressure is determined in this paper. A behavior of a corneoscleral shell of an eye with increasing of intraocular pressure can be modelled. The modelling is performed by virtue of the theory of shells taking into account the influence of transversal shear, deforming in the direction of normal to middle surface and transversal normal stresses.
The problem is solved in the displacements. As a result of transformation of the constitutive relations, the system of differential equations of sixteenth order with sixteen boundary conditions is obtained. Adopting a finite–difference method, the overall picture of shell deformations for various ratios of the elastic moduli was obtained.
