Abstract

Last week’s announcement on the existence of gravitational waves confirms something philosophers and musicians have known for a long time: the universe is musical. The key pursuit of metaphysics is to understand the nature of reality. For thousands of years, philosophers have grappled with trying to figure out what is real and how we might know. Music has always been central to that task.
