In: QLD Health, Physical Education, Physical Activity, Outdoor Education and Sport Conference 2015: Energise, 30 Oct 2015, Gold Coast, Australia.
Abstract
The Olympic sport of Handball is a dynamic and fun. It is played in the five continents represented by the Olympic rings and is incredibly popular throughout the world yet has a low profile in Australia. HPE teachers in Australia are becoming more switched on to the possibilities of this fast paced, exciting and user friendly team sport. This interactive and practical workshop will introduce you to the sport of Handball and demonstrate activities and strategies that enable all students to join in and contribute to team action beyond the basics of pass and catch. During this workshops we practice basic skills and strategies; understand and apply basic rules; suggest modifications and improvisations of facilities, resources and rules and play adapted handball games.
