This paper attempts to explain the necessity of Islamic Finance and its expansion worldwide as an alternative financial system. The different aspects of Islamic Finance are also carefully discussed. The method employed in this study is a mixture of direct observation from the legal and regulatory perspectives, literature reviews and the authors' personal experience and
association with this industry. Examining the above, this paper finally discusses the history, development and current issues of Islamic Finance in Australia.
