The manifestation of religious belief through dress: Human hights and constitutional issues

Gray, Anthony (2014) The manifestation of religious belief through dress: Human hights and constitutional issues. European Journal of Law Reform, 16 (2). pp. 329-352. ISSN 1387-2370

Abstract

This article considers human rights and constitutional law issues associated with bans on expressions of religious belief. This finds most currency in terms of so-called burqa bans. Surprisingly, courts have not been as protective of the religious freedoms of individuals, including the right to express religious faith through dress, as might have been anticipated.
