Abstract
This document provides an overview and summary of selected activities of Research and Development Support (RADS ) through the South East Queensland Irrigation Futures (SEQ-IF) program and the tools and technologies
investigated by the NCEA. The document is not a comprehensive and all inclusive handbook for modern day
irrigation practice but outlines many issues encountered in South East Queensland irrigation communities. The report highlights the opportunities for and potential solutions towards improving irrigation efficiency through precision irrigation.
While technical detail has deliberately been kept to a minimum, examples of leading edge technologies are
provided, with sufficient technical background and case study examples to illustrate the use of these technologies
for improved irrigation management.
