Abstract
Many thanks for the opportunity to respond to the letter by Kaijser and colleagues on our original article entitled 'Differentiating stage I epithelial ovarian cancer from benign ovarian tumours using a combination of tumour markers HE4, CA125, and CEA and patient's age'. We thank the group from Leuven for their comments and commend the authors for their long-standing commitment to develop ovarian cancer prediction tools.
The group of authors from a highly reputable European centre of excellence in gynaecological oncology believes that ultrasound is superior to serum biomarkers.
