Abstract

[Abstract]: A professional development framework emerged in a project to support teachers and school administrators in the classroom implementation of ePortfolios. The framework is a checklist of questions to guide the design, evaluation, and sustaining of a constructivist learning environment. Activities include an investigation of the issue and context, access to a library of cases and information resources, skill development in the use of tools, and social and contextual support (Jonassen, 1999). Case-Based Reasoning is a key feature as participants access cases to complement their own experience. The professional development framework was refined in a project that sought to improve the success for boys. The researcher applies his inside knowledge as a school principal and utilizes local expertise and resources.
