Abstract
Application level replication aims to solve the problem of being able to edit ones Joomla! site when you aren't necessarily connected to it. Joomla! is run by people around the world and it isn't practical to try and use MySQL replication to handle the situation of wanting to update your site disconnected on your laptop before pushing it to the world. Other issues like conflict resolution are sometimes best handled within the application as well. What this talk will show is an approach used by Joomla! to provide the ability to replicate Joomla! sites between a single master site live on the internet and a child site that is only periodically connected to the master and demonstrate methods of handling conflict resolution.
