Abstract
In this paper, we propose to assess the depth of anesthesia using modified detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) method. The separation of different anesthesia stages was conducted using the different box size which is derived from the DFA method together with fast Fourier transform (FFT). Using this new method, we can discriminate four states of anesthesia: deep anesthesia, moderate anesthesia, light anesthesia and awake clearly. The results are shown in experimental simulations.
